  20.                  and several other SYSOP's have tested the HELL out of 
  21.                  it and encountered NO problems.

  38.     WHAT DOES THIS THING DO ?

  40.    This .wcx utility allows system callers <in up to 5, Sysop defined Access
  41.    Profiles> the ability to Upload files to a specific File Area <that you 
  42.    create> or already have without having the File(s) actually added to the 
  43.    Wildcat! Database.

  69.     OK I'M SOLD! - HOW DO I INSTALL IT ?  (Read Security Section First!)

  72.     1)   Make a directory to hold all of the Stealth files.  I suggest:
  73.  
  74.                                 C:\WILDCAT\STEALTH
  75.  
  76.     2)    From the .wcx's included with this archive, find the one that 
  77.           matches the Ver. # of the Wildcat BBS Software you are using 
  78.           and rename the appropriate file to STEALTH.WCX. 
  79.  
  80.           i.e:  Version 4.20 Sysop's would select STEAL420.wcx and then 
  81.           rename it to STEALTH.wcx
  82.  
  83.      (If you are using Ver. 4.10 of Wildcat, select the STEAL401.WCX file).

  86.     3)    Edit the STEALTH.CFG file <as provided> to reflect the 5 Access 
  87.           Profiles you wish to permit Access to Stealth.wcx utility, and 
  88.           also be sure to edit the Path and Name of the Upload Area to be
  89.           used by Stealth.

  91.           Note:  If you wish to permit less than five profiles Access to 
  92.           the STEALTH.wcx utility, then enter NONE on the unused lines 
  93.           <see example STEALTH.cfg for more details>.

  96.     4)    Copy or Move the STEALTH.BBS & STEALTH1.BBS files into your 
  97.           DISPLAY directory.       
  98.  
  99.                  In most cases, likely    C:\WILDCAT\DISP  
  100.  
  101.           If you like you may EDIT the STEALTH.BBS file with WCDRAW to 
  102.           reflect the "look and feel" of your BBS SYSTEM but why bother
  103.           the one I have provided looks great ! and there are ONLY 2 
  104.           menu selections on it.

  107.     5)    Using MAKEMENU add a keystroke to any "File Menu" used by any    
  108.           of the Access Profiles you granted access to in Stealth.cfg,
  109.           to allow them the ability to run Stealth.wcx.

  111.           If you are unclear as to how to do this Read your Wildcat! 4  
  112.           SYSOP Manual.

  115.     6)    Using wcDraw, edit your Files Menu to reflect the "new" key
  116.           that users will press to activate the Stealth Upload feature,
  117.           again if you are unclear as how to do this, please refer to 
  118.           your Wildcat! 4 manual.

  127.     IMPORTANT STUFF:
  128.  
  129.     Stealth Ver. 1.0  was designed to permit "Close Friends" of mine and a
  130.     few other "select" users to Upload files directly to my BBS without 
  131.     these files polluting the Wildcat! Files Databases, things like BADNAMES
  132.     lists etc ...  
  133.  
  134.     At this time, Stealth Ver. 1.0 does NOT scan or test any uploads 
  135.     processed by it for ANSI Bomb or Virus type matter, therefore, it is 
  136.     intended that YOU only permit "Friends" or "Trustworthy" Users access
  137.     to the Stealth.wcx program. 
  138.  
  139.     Prior to installation ensure that you fully UNDERSTAND and are OK with 
  140.     the security issues presented above as they relate to the use of the 
  141.     STEALTH.wcx on your BBS System.  
  142.  
  143.     If you are NOT clear on this point ... DO NOT RUN this .wcx !.

  146.     OK!, SO HOW DO I PROTECT MY SYSTEM ?:
  147.

  149.     We STRONGLY reccommend that you use a .BAT file <run as an EVENT to 
  150.     do a periodic scan of ALL of your User Accessable UPLOAD areas including
  151.     the area used by STEALTH.   
  152.  
  153.     On my BBS I have an event that runs every two hours <as a soft event> 
  154.     that scans my Uploads Area, Stealth Area, QWK Mail Area and my Message
  155.     Attachments Area for any Virus like matter ... or ANSI Bombs, I know,
  156.     call me anal <g> BUT I have never had any Virus related problems on my
  157.     system.
